Sony-Viacom18 Merger


Sony Pictures and Viacom18 india, which is a joint venture between Reliance Industries Ltd(RIL) and US media giant Viacom(51:49) is in talks to merge their operations in India. Post merger Sony would have 74% stake and Viacom18 would have 26% stake. Out of which RIL may get 12%-13%. The deal is in final stage. This won't be a cash deal it will be a stock swapping deal.
The deal had taken much longer time due to RIL's ongoing negotiation with Google, Facebook for its Jio platforms. This might be a game changer for sony as it will be in a much better position with 'Colors' to fight Disney india which owns entertainment channels like Star plus,Star bharat etc. They might also merge their respective OTTs Sony Liv and Voot which is not much popular as its competitors like Amazon,Hotstar etc.. Though we don't have any confirmation regarding OTT merger. RIL clearly doesn't want to handle a entertainment channel anymore. It just want content for Jio. So after the deal whole Sony content might be available on Jio platforms.

New images of pixel 3, pixel 3 XL leaked..

Before the launch event on October 9, Google's flagship smartphones Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL images have been leaked again. This time by Evan Blass(@evleaks) on Twitter.  Going by his previous predictions we won't be surprised if it's true. But the notch in pixel 3 XL doesn't look nice. Infact it's ugly. But the cameras on pixel devices should be great as always. The pixel is expected to be of 5.3 inch and pixel 3 XL may come with 6 inch display.
